The snow is falling and so is natural gas inventory. Last week’s CME NYMEX spot price spiked to $3.06/mmbtu as gas in storage saw its biggest withdrawal in a year. So far this winter season, 9 of 13 storage reports have seen larger withdrawals year-over-year.
The Schork Group sees a scenario where the end-of-season balance falls below the five-year mean.
A report cited in Natural Gas Intelligence predicts Heating Degree Days around 33% above normal for the next two weeks, driving incremental demand of 175 Bcf.
