Uplifting Black Kings - February 27, 2021
Uplifting Black Kings is an empowering and uplifting space for black men to examine their experiences, thoughts and perceptions.

About this Event
Uplifting Black Kings cultivate conversations that focus on self-reflection, introspection and self-evaluation on various topics that are important to black men. Topics such as manhood, fatherhood, provider and protector, custody, vulnerability, depression, race-based trauma, managing stress, healthy living and many more will be discussed. Men have often been placed in a box by society, family and their own expectations. Men often do not talk about their feelings, hide their emotions and are expected to show strength despite the stress they encounter. Men have emotions too. Men experience conflict, struggles and misfortunes and find it difficult to find safe haven. Most men suffer in silence with shame, guilt or embarrassment. Uplifting Black Kings is an empowering and uplifting space for black men to examine how experiences, thoughts and perceptions impact their lives and how they impact everyone they encounter. This is a space to have open communication and integrate breathwork and deep rest to relieve stress and tension. Stress alone is killing men, especially black men at a higher rate. Through breathwork, meditation, deep rest and some movement and reflective inquiry, participants will be invited to create their own self-care rituals and strategies with intention.

Funding Requests

I would like to request for help to be assisted for the sake of my mother's health. She is sick with chronic Asmatic condition which makes her life difficult with prolonged cough. We wish to request for help to relocate her from our rular areas which is very cold and difficult for her to survive. All the triggers of her condition are present in that area. Helping her out to relocate will be the number one help. Thankyou in advance for your kind gesture towards a sick mother.
