The power of focus

A man started a fish business, he put up a signboard that reads, "Fresh Fish for Sale Today" and invited all to visit his place of business. Many came and congratulated him on his business, but one suggested that he change the sign. So he was told to remove the "Today". So he removed it. Someone else said, "Why for sale? Everybody knows you have fish for sale or else why the store?" The words "for sale" came off the sign. Another sad, "why the word "fresh"? You are a man of integrity and that guarantees your fish to be fresh". "Fresh" came of the sign. Only one word was left. "Fish" and one complained about it. "I smelled your fish two blocks away. The word fish is not necessary". The word too went off and so the business died. The person that tries to please everybody ends up pleasing nobody. The man should have put up his sign and stand by it.

The greatest challenge and danger in life is the pressure to think, behave and live in the same way as most people do in a group or society, to just follow the crowd. When you follow the crowd, you become a crowd pleaser and a slave to others. Consequently, you lose your identity and individuality. It pays to be alone in beneficial ventures than being in the crow. This is what we are to do in life. Accept God's will for your life and stand by your conviction.
