Working Session
How do we mend the rifts within the black community?

In the United States, we are divided. There are rifts with Foundational Black Americans and American Descendants of Slavery against black immigrants. This is a very personal issue and I understand the root of the distrust. As an immigrant growing up, I recall hearing toxic comments like “These Black Americans are lazy and no good.” Although I am susceptible to brainwashing, I was fortunate to have a very rebellious soul so these comments never took root in my mind.

I was open minded enough to take the tine to understand my Black American brothers and sisters. There is a history of black immigrants looking down on black Americans while ignoring the sacrifices their ancestors made paving the way for us to succeed in America. These frictions are not new but seem to be getting to a crescendo.

These rifts are so dangerous to our collective future.  Something needs to be done.  I would like to create a coalition focused on mending the rift between Black-Americans and black-Immigrants. I would like to use the next session to kickoff this endeavor.

Lets make this a working session where we do more than talk. Lets use our energy towards action.

I am looking for suggestions on what is needed to establish an effective and inclusive organization focusing on ending the rifts within the black community, All suggestions are welcome. Please join me. I am eager to hear your ideas. Let’s work.
