Would Tribal Monarchies Do Better in Africa than Democracy?

Would Tribal Monarchies do better in Africa than Democracy? Why did the ruling systems in Africa change and would Royal systems stop the inordinate amounts of Coups that continue to plague African countries since their independence from colonial rule?

According to the United Nations, nearly 500 political Coups have taken place around the globe since 1950 and nearly half of those Coups have occurred on the continent of Africa. In the first month of 2022, at least two Coups have already taken place. It is a disturbing trend that seems to have no end in sight. Of course, there are a multitude of reasons why African countries are so dysfunctional but the main reason seems to be the imposition of colonial systems of rule on traditionally tribal populations.

Racist and naïve people might say that Africans are simply too primitive to understand how to live Democratically. However, we must remember that when Europe decided to carve up Africa like a chocolate cake into countries, borders were drawn irrespective of tribal boundaries. The result was that multiple tribes who spoke different languages, had different Kings, and practiced different cultures and spiritual traditions became overnight compatriots.

Under colonialism, African Kings lost their political power and became mere tools of the colonizers that kept their populations tame in exchange for the opportunity to keep their royal titles. Africans were forced to forget their languages and traditions and adopt European languages and cultural traditions. When African countries began to gain independence from colonial rule, they were forced through conditions, to maintain European political systems.

Pointing to the examples of the power-less royals of Europe, Africans were encouraged to believe that the world had moved on from the era of Kings and was now living according to new forms of government based on Democracy. Most African countries gladly accepted the often crippiling economic conditions imposed on them because they were eager to show the colonizers that they were worthy of self-rule.

Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on how you look at it, a lot of African presidents did not believe the BS European governments were selling them. They saw how Europe had plunged the world into two world wars and how Communism had emerged as the #1 enemy of Capitalism. They knew that power only respected power so they began to build their Armies to defend their borders as well as to squash social and political dissent within their own populations.

Sharing new-found power became difficult so many African leaders became Dictators that only kept political elections for show. At the same time, Capitalists in Europe and America discovered that it was easier to work with African Dictators as it was easier to pay them off in exchange for the opportunity to continueto rape the Natural Resources of their countries.

Dictatorships seem to be the Political system the world is trending towards. Whether in the form of Authoritarianism, Totalitarianism, Military, Theocracy, or Tribal Monarchy it doesn’t matter. These same racists who look down on Africa are currently engaged in their own political Coups as a result of the resurgence of White Supremacist Ideology so look forward to one of these types of governments coming soon in America and many European countries.

A return to Tribal Monarchy as a form of Government in many African countries would not stop things such as xenophobia and Desire Dependency, as is evident by the need to adorn one-self in Gold to project status. Tribal Monarchies might even result in the breaking up of many countries as they exist today but it would end the fight for political power in most African countries that often results in military Coups.

As a continental African, what do you think? The member who provided the best feedback will receive 100 bmunts.

@thewanderlustq Why should Royals own land...? Ancestral lands should belong to the whole community.

What most slave minded black people, who, sad to say are from Africa, do not see is how evil and racist Facebook is and how it protects white supremacy and silences black people who speak truth while they promote black people who post the most self degrading messages towards black people.
