"Violet.. Kira called walking to the kitchen with her sister
"What are you doing?" Kira asked again
"She's cooking of course.. Jeffrey replied
"And Is that what you're eating? What she made?" Kylie chipped in pointing at the plate of food with Jeffrey.
"Yeah.. he nodded
"And you're okay? You aren't feeling dizzy and nauseous?" Kylie asked while Violet and Jeffery gave her a questioning look
" What do you mean?" Jeffrey asked
"I'm just... concerned. You might likely die after eating this..Kylie replied and Kira burst into laughter
"You two are so dead.. Violet said and made to hit them but Jeffrey stopped her.
"A taste would convince them.. he said and stretch the plate of food to them.
Kira looked at him again and back at the food before collecting the plate reluctantly
The food looked captivating
She licked her lips as she salivated.
Kira gulp emptiness before taking a spoonful into her mouth
She munch on it shortly before nodding in satisfaction
Kylie took the spoon from her sister and also ate from the food
Jeffrey and Violet stood still, staring at them waiting patiently for their remark about the food.
Kira and her sister ate everything thing on the plate
"Water" they said and Violet immediately gave them water
They gulp it down and burp loudly
"So how was it?" Violet asked staring at them with a smile
"Well.. It wasn't delicious actually... Kira said and Kylie nodded in agreement
"It's not delicious and yet, you ate everything?" She banged her hands softly on the counter and the twin started taking few steps backwards since they knew Violet was about chasing them
Kylie stared at Kira and Kira nodded. Before Violet could take a step forward, they were out of the house already.
Jeffrey burst into laughter.
"That was close".. Kira said, immediately they were out of the house
" I Know right" Kylie nodded
"But Violet really nailed it this time. This is the first time I will be eating something delicious from her" Kira said
"Yeah, I remembered the porridge she made the other day and we ended up using the toilet for two days straight. Granny and Jeff weren't an exception... Kylie said and they both laughed
"K2..." They heard their mom's voice. The looked at each other before walking back to their home

"You're doing great young master"... Brown complimented as Ryan was getting everything he taught him
"He's such a fast learner. Chairman Li must be really proud of him.. Brown smiled to himself
"Arghh!" He heard Ryan screamed
He had actually lost control of the car and it went crashing into a wall.
He got a slight cut on his cheek and blood was gushing out from it
"Young master"... Brown called fearfully, running towards the car
"Are you okay?" He asked concernedly while Ryan nodded
"I will go get you a band-aid and antiseptic ointment" . Brown said and walked to a store not far from where they were.
He was done buying and went back to meet Ryan.
"I will help you".. he said while Ryan frowned
"You wanna touch my handsome face? Don't you think you are crossing your boundaries right now? I can do it myself" he said and Brown bowed immediately
"I'm sorry Sir.. he said and Ryan giggle softly.
"The band-aid" he stretched his hands and Brown placed it on his palm
He faced the rear view-mirror and gently placed the band on the cut .
"How do we get home?" He asked since he didn't like taking the public bus.
He has never done that since he was born
"I'll call the mansion, they'll get us another car" Brown said while Ryan looked at the car again.
"I wonder if they can get you fixed"... he wondered as he sat inside the car while brown called someone to help with the car.

They got home and Ryan walked straight to his room. He felt light and his head felt free. It was fun leaving the house
At least he had some breathing space
He walked to his bathroom for a quick bath and headed back downstairs. He's lunch was placed on the table. He walked to the dining and started eating without saying a word

Violet sat down in the coffee shop waiting for orders , yet none was forthcoming. Customers only came to buy and leave. She sigh as she served the customers what they wanted
She was done for the day and took her pay. She left the shop and walk down the street to her house.

She met Jeffrey waiting for her already. She smiled before facing Granny Pamela
"Keep this for me granny".. she said handing her grandmother her pay.
She walked to her room and took the note (lucky charm)
She left the room to the sitting room and Jeffrey stood up immediately he saw her
"Going already?" Granny Pamela asked and she nodded
" You just came back... Why don't you rest a bit?"
" It's fine granny, just take care of yourself" Violet said and her granny smiled
"Bye grandma.. she waved, then held Jeffrey's hands as they made their way out of the house
They walked down the street until they got to the restaurant. A smile was plastered on Violet's face as she approached her boss
Good evening sir.. they chorus and Mr Xian smiled.
"Let's get to work" Jeffrey and they made their way to the kitchen

Mr Li came back home with his wife. At that time, Ryan was about leaving for his room when his dad called him back
"Welcome dad"... he said and made to proceed into his room.
" Ryan" Xue called again and he ( Ryan ) turned to him
Xue walked up to him looking at the band-aid on his face. He made to touch it but Ryan turned his face away and shifted back
"Where did you get that from? The injury" Xue asked, already getting angry but Ryan kept mute
Leyan just stood looking at them
"I'm talking to you Ryan!!" His dad shouted this time but he still didn't utter a word.
"I've told you this numerous times, if you choose to be silent all your life, it shouldn't be around me.. whenever I asked a question, I need an answer. Do you get that?" His dad yelled again but he didn't say anything still
"Honey"... Leyan chipped in since she knew it was gonna turn to an argument.
"It's my fault Sir".. Brown spoke up with a bow. He couldn't stand his master yelling at Ryan
"And how is it your fault?" Xue faced him
"We went....
"It was a mistake, I got it from school.. Ryan lied while Xue faced him
Brown tilted his head to his direction, staring at him unbelievably
"You can leave us".. Ryan said to Brown and he did a bow before walking out of their sight
"If you don't mind, I will be in my room. I need to read my books".. he said and walked away before his dad could say any other thing
Leyan let out a sigh.
She didn't understand what had come over their son.
Their boy who once loved to smile at any little thing, very stubborn back then and laughs a lot.. Their boy who always had a cheerful look on. He suddenly changed. Blaming himself for what he didn't do.
"Let's go in.. Leyan said holding her husband's hands and they both walk their way to the room

"That was a good one there..Mr Xian complimented and Violet couldn't help but blush. She was the one that did most of the cooking and she had started to like doing it
It felt good to her. The customers complimenting her meal gaving her excess joy.
"So, this is your pay.. Mr Xian said handing them an envelope each.
"Thank you Sir.. they chorus and Xian nodded. They made to leave but violet turned back
"Sir! She called and Mr Xian turned to her
"What is it? You have something to say?" He asked
"I have an upcoming exam. A scholarship exam to be precise"...
"Okay?
"I might start coming to work late... and I also wish to be going home early so I can prepare myself for the exam". she said and bit on her lower lips.
She knew she was crossing her boundaries and the possibility of loosing her job was high too
She didn't bother looking at him since she immediately regret asking him for such favor.
"I understand, just do as you please"... Mr Xian said while Violet immediately looked up.
"Sir, what did you just say?" She asked not wanting to believe her ears.
Most of the other employees who came before her had told her about how wicked and strict their boss was.
One couldn't asked him for any favor or anything cause he was gonna reject it or probably fire them.
"Do you want me to change my mind?" Mr Xian asked and she shook her head quickly
"Then good night.. Xian said and her eyes widened.
Jeffrey wasn't an exception but he couldn't say anything at that moment
"Thank you Sir... They chorus before walking out of the restaurant happily
"How did you do that?" Jeffrey asked
"I don't know.. maybe my lucky charm did it again".. she replied while Jeffrey raised a brow at her
" Lucky charm?"
"Oh, I forgot to tell you" she exclaimed
" It happened the other day granny sent me to the grocery store........
She explained everything that happened to Jeffrey
"And you believe the note is your charm?" He asked while she nodded. He smiled at her but didn't say any word further
"So how are you preparing?"Jeffrey asked
"Preparing? What?" Violet asked back, confused
"When did you start to forget?" Jeffrey smacked her head.
"I was talking about the scholarship exam".. he added
"Oh.. the exams.. don't worry, I will make sure I'll be leading the rest of the candidates in every aspect. I'm gonna have the highest score".. she said and Jeffrey smile
"I trust you on that" he said

Violet walked to the kitchen and met her food as usual, she wasn't hungry since she has eaten already at the restaurant. She microwaved the food and walked back to the sitting room to meet Jeffrey
She placed the food In front of him but he signal to her he wasn't eating. He had actually eaten with her at the restaurant
"Then good night... I need to study" .. she said and walked to the kitchen to cover the food. She walked back to the sitting room and met Jeffrey lying on the couch already
"Good night".. she said again and headed to her room
She sat on her bed and brought some of her text books from her drawer.
"Exams are fast approaching. No need to slack off" She told herself and began to read. She continued reading until it was 3am in the morning
She yawn and kept her books.
"This is enough for today".. she said and closed her eyes

Ryan check the time and discovered it was 3am. He exhaled and closed his books before closing his laptop. He was actually awake reading, since that was the only thing he knew best
He walked to his bed and laid on it. He sigh before closing his eyes waiting for sleep

★ GRANNY PAMELA'S MANSION★
"Good morning granny" Jeffrey greeted, walking into the house

" I'm fine granny" he replied and turned to Violet
"I thought you would have been dressed by now. He said
"Why? Not as if I'm late.. she replied

" You speak as if you just got to know me" she scoff and was about entering her room when Kira called her
"I hope you girls aren't here to give me bad luck?" She turned to them
" Geez... That's kinda harsh" Kira rolled her eyes
" Then why are you both here? Why did I have to see you both early this morning?" Violet folded her hands
" Well.... We came to wish you Good luck" Kylie spoke up and Violet grimace
" What? You want us to wish you bad luck instead?" Kira asked and Violet flicked her forehead

" I'm going for an exam. You shouldn't mention bad luck" she scolded

"Anyway let me go take a bath"
She walked to her room and came out minutes later all dressed.

They all left the house and down the street to board a cab
"Bye granny.. wish me luck.. Violet said and entered the cab with Jeffrey

There was actually no dull moment with the girls

Mr George, one of their lecturer walked in. He walked straight to him and tapped him softly.

"The scholars are waiting for you".. Mr George said and he nodded before standing up

The population was close to a hundred. They were to seat according to their respective numbers as sent to those who registered
"I'm number one on the list?" Her eyes widened as she located her seat.

"I'm here for an exam, I know I'm good luck itself but I still need your luck".. she said and returned the money to her pant pocket
Students were already seated with a laptop place In front of each of them . They were just waiting for the supervisors.
"Hi, I'm Mimi" A girl said behind Violet.
"Hi, Violet" she replied and the girl smiled
"You look beautiful, can we be friends? "
"Maybe when we both get the scholarship".. Violet replied and faced her front
Ryan and George immediately entered the hall

Mr George, one of their lecturer walked in. He walked straight to him and tapped him softly.
Ryan Opened his eyes and they fell on George. He sat upright before bowing to him
"The scholars are waiting for you".. Mr George said and he nodded before standing up
👥 Ryan is one of the supervisors?
👥 What's his relationship with Mr Li Xue? Are they related? Could he be his son?
👥 I doubt that. Maybe because he is very intelligent
Ryan and Mr George left the class and made their way to the exam hall
"I will be in class now.. good luck" Jeffrey said and Violet nodded before entering the hall
The population alone scared her and she gulped
"Wow, is this the population that wants to get into evergreen college? And only five students will be selected?" She wondered unbelievably
The population was close to a hundred. They were to seat according to their respective numbers as sent to those who registered
"I'm number one on the list?" Her eyes widened as she located her seat.
She brought out the $100 note and smiled
"I'm here for an exam, I know I'm good luck itself but I still need your luck".. she said and returned the money to her pant pocket
Students were already seated with a laptop place In front of each of them . They were just waiting for the supervisors.
"Hi, I'm Mimi" A girl said behind Violet.
"Hi, Violet" she replied and the girl smiled
"You look beautiful, can we be friends? "
"Maybe when we both get the scholarship".. Violet replied and faced her front
Ryan and George immediately entered the hall
👥 Wow, the young guy is a supervisor?"
👥 F*ck, he's handsome as hell
👥 Can't wait to get into this school and be his girlfriend
Students kept murmuring while Violet's heart skipped beats
"Did he noticed his note is with me? Lucky charm.. will he take you away from me now? Is he gonna accuse me of stealing you?" She thought still staring at Ryan who was now walking towards her
She shifted back on her seat and held her pocket like she didn't want the money to disappear
To her surprise, Ryan just walked past her without even sparing her a glance
"Huh? He isn't here for it?" She wondered as she watch him take a seat not far from hers
