Minnesota's Biggest Fraud Scheme Exposed: Aimee Bock Speaks Out

Aimee Bock, "mastermind" of MinnesotaIn a shocking turn of events, the mastermind behind Minnesota's largest-ever fraud scheme has broken her silence. Aimee Bock, the 45-year-old head of Feeding Our Future, a nonprofit that claimed to feed hungry children during the COVID-19 pandemic, has spoken exclusively to CBS News from her jail cell.

A $250 Million Scandal
Prosecutors allege that Bock and her associates defrauded a federal program by signing off on reimbursement claims for millions of meals that were never served. The scheme, which spanned five years, resulted in the theft of tens of millions of dollars meant to feed children. Instead, the money was used to fund luxury cars, real estate ventures, and vacations.

Aimee Bock's Defense
In an exclusive interview with CBS News, Bock defended her actions, stating that she 'believed we were doing everything in our power to protect the program.' She expressed regret over the outcome, saying, 'I wish I could go back and do things differently, stop things, catch things.' However, prosecutors argue that Bock was at the helm of the scheme from day one and signed off on every fraudulent claim submitted to the state of Minnesota.

The Investigation
The investigation into Feeding Our Future has resulted in 78 defendants being charged, with over 60 pleading guilty or convicted at trial. All but one of those charged are Somali American, leading some to question whether the Trump administration's immigration crackdown was justified by pointing to a 'widespread' fraud scheme within the community.

Aimee Bock's words offer a glimpse into the mind of someone who orchestrated a massive scam that left countless children without food. As she awaits sentencing, her case serves as a stark reminder of the importance of accountability and transparency in public programs meant to help those in need.
