Breaking Generational Cycles: Meet Dr. Wendy G. Wilson, a Financial Literacy Coach on a Mission
In a world where financial literacy is often overlooked, one woman is making waves by empowering Black and Brown families to transform their relationship with money. Meet Dr. Wendy G. Wilson, a Texas-based educator, businesswoman, and licensed financial professional who's dedicated to breaking generational cycles of financial struggle. The Missing Piece: Understanding How Money Works
For generations, many Black and Brown families have been taught the value of hard work, but often without understanding how money actually works. Dr. Wilson explains that this lack of knowledge can lead to uncertainty and fear around financial decisions, even for those who work hard their entire lives. 'In many households, we were taught how to work-but not always how money works,' she says.
The Power of Early Education
Dr. Wilson emphasizes that financial education should begin long before adulthood. She believes that when children and teenagers are exposed to financial knowledge early on, they develop confidence instead of fear around money. 'If we wait until someone is thirty or forty to learn how money works, they've already made years of decisions without the right foundation,' she says.
The Connection Between Mindset and Financial Success
Dr. Wilson also highlights that financial success is deeply connected to mindset. She explains that many people have inherited belief patterns around money, often associated with stress, silence, or struggle. Through her coaching, she helps individuals identify and shift these beliefs so they can make more informed and confident financial decisions.
The Webinar: A Step Towards Financial Clarity
To continue her mission, Dr. Wilson is hosting a free live webinar titled 'The 5 Foundations You Need in Place Before You Start Investing.' This interactive session will walk attendees through the essential principles required to build financial confidence and make informed decisions with their money.
Dr. Wendy G. Wilson's work is a testament to the power of education and mindset in breaking generational cycles of financial struggle. By empowering Black and Brown families with the tools and understanding needed to manage their finances effectively, she's helping them transform their relationship with money and build a brighter future.
