One of New Zealand’s hidden mountain wonders

Lake Quill sits high in the Fiordland mountains at 579 meters. From it flows Sutherland Falls — one of the tallest waterfalls on the planet, dropping 580 meters in three giant tiers. It was discovered in 1880, and even today you can reach it only by air or by tough alpine tracks.

The waterfall is fed only by rain and melted snow, so its power changes all the time. A wild, remote place that feels untouched by people. #Featured
