Michel Tama Sadiakhou's life took an unexpected turn 15 years ago when he stumbled upon a community of chimpanzees. Instead of toiling away in the mines, he now works as a researcher on the Fongoli Savanna Chimpanzee Project, founded by US primatologist Jill Pruetz in 2001.
