Chrysler recalls more than 450,000 vehicles with trailer brakes that could failIn a move aimed at ensuring road safety, Chrysler has issued a massive recall of over 450,000 vehicles due to concerns that their trailer brakes may fail. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has confirmed the recall, which affects various models including the Jeep Wagoneer S and Ram pickup trucks.

Affected Vehicles and Models
The recall affects a total of 450,000 vehicles across multiple models. These include the 2024-2026 Jeep Wagoneer S, 2025-2026 Ram 1500 Pickup, Ram 2500 Pickup, Ram 3500 Pickup, Ram 3500 Cab Chassis, Ram 4500 Cab Chassis, and Ram 5500 Cab Chassis. Additionally, certain Mopar tow trailer modules are also being recalled due to similar concerns about trailer lights and brakes.

Reason for Recall
The NHTSA has identified a design flaw in the trailer tow module that could lead to trailer brake failure. This poses a significant risk to road safety, particularly when towing heavy loads or navigating challenging terrain. Chrysler is taking proactive steps to address this issue by replacing the affected modules with new ones.

Recall Process and Timeline
Dealers will replace the trailer tow module for free, and owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on March 24. If the trailer tow module is not installed in a vehicle, dealers will repurchase it. Chrysler's corporate name is FCA US, LLC.

The recall serves as a reminder of the importance of regular vehicle maintenance and adherence to safety standards. Chrysler's proactive approach demonstrates its commitment to ensuring road safety and protecting its customers. As the recall process unfolds, affected owners are advised to contact their dealerships for further information and assistance.
