One of the only successful slave revolutions in modern history occurred in Haiti in the late 1700s. Slaves of African descent overthrew European rulers and took control of the country. Many slaves were Voodooists, and some of their military leaders were Priests and Priestess who inspired and organized their communities to fight for freedom. Black Women who understood their power played a major role in our Ancestors freedom. These Priestess help to invoke the power of our Ancestors through rituals that were used to inspire Nation. One Priestess in general is Cécile Fatiman who was a Haitian vodou priestess. This beautiful Black Priestess is honored for her participation in the war council at Bwa Kayiman that started the Haiti Revolution. But this sacred Priestess was more than that. She is the greatest of all Haiti Priestess being a Haiti healer and warrior Cécile Fatiman was the living vessel of her people who helped mobilized the enslaved and the maroons. There is a long history of powerful African and aborigine Priestess military leaders and rebels which seldom make it into Europeans current history books. The role of our Black Women in ruling Melanated Nations, fighting against colonial enslavement and supervising the policies of their heirs and offspring as they rose into political primacy is a suppressed and forgotten Western societies. This is a history which deserves to be taught our people. Our Black Women will never be forgotten and we remember our fallen heroes and the sacrifices they made for our freedom. On August 1791, Fatiman presided over a ceremony at the Bois Caïman in the role of mambo together with priest Dutty Boukman. Boukman prophesied that the slaves Jean François, Biassou, and Jeannot would be leaders of a resistance movement and revolt that would free the slaves of Saint-Domingue. An animal was sacrificed, an oath was taken, and Boukman and the priestess exhorted the listeners to take revenge against their French oppressors. During the ceremony, Cécile Fatiman acted as if she were possessed by the Goddess Erzulie. A week later, 1800 plantations had been destroyed and 1000 slaveholders killed. It is reported that she lived to the ripe old age of 112 years old. ❤️🖤💚🌬️💨 Ayibobo 🌿 Hotep🌞 Shalom🌟 Namaste🌠 Ase'✨As-salamu alaikum🌙 Jah Bless🌿My time is dedicated to bringing you our undeniable history and culture.
