#HowThisAIEntrepreneurAimsToEmpowerBlackWomenInTheField Hi everybody, I'm here with Angel Bush, who is the founder of Black Women in Artificial intelligence. I literally described because I love what you're doing. Talk about what gave you the idea for this while. Actually, black women in AI came about because of Kushner Kushner under the singer Usher, the Savior, I was attempting to build a robot named Usher, and as I was what was sure going to do, she was going to serve me hot cocoa. I love this. And in the context of that, I started researching on the internet how to build this robot and it led to artificial intelligence. And so that was the genesis of the thought process. And then I ended up attending an event that did not fully reflect me. But they continue to toss about artificial AI events. Yes, and they continue to talk about how artificial intelligence is the fourth industrial revo Lucius. And in that moment I said to myself, Well, surely you can't have a revolution without black women. And so that's what the genesis of black women and am. So what's interesting is that your background is in the oil and gas industry. You're based out of Houston. Yes, So So how do you start something like that ? You didn't. Did you ever build your robot ? Ushered in NA, I did not. So you see, I've got this organization in your mind. What was the mission ? Who are you like ? Black women and AI to many forms. It could be. Women working in AI can be educational to be a resource for other companies, right ? What was your mission ? Black Limit and Artificial Intelligence is a professional membership organization and our mission is to educate, engage, in, brace and empower black women in the artificial intelligence sector. And we're making sure that we're providing access and opportunities. So what's interesting is a lot of organization tions and in AI would come to you and say, Okay, we're working with black women in artificial intelligence. What do you say to them ? Are you interested in that ? I'm always interested in engaging and partnering with different organizations. What's important is that we ask people who come to us and say We want to partner with you. We ask them to do three things, And the first thing is to know the vision, educate, engage, embrace and empower who understand the vision, educate it engaging, briefing and power, and finally, to trust the vision. Educate, Engage in brief and empowered, because when you trust the vision, you will tell someone else about it. To. One of the things you'd noticed was that the current rosters and offices in Silicon Valley and Tech does not have a lot of black women. But so you know, when you get led into the room. We've all been led into the room. Yes, nothing changes. What ? What is the ultimate goal ? What's your message ? Because a lot of people are like, Oh yeah, we work with all these groups. For years and years you've been talking about, right ? It's gonna move the needles, I think oftentimes there's a performative aspect to it and one of the things that I tell people and it's not always popular. Instead, I'm not really concerned about a seat at the table. You don't want to see the table. Wanna sit at the table ? I don't want to sit at the table without power, authority, and influence. I've had a seat at the table where I didn't have any power. But I was in the room and they could say, while she was in the room, we had actual. Was there, right ? Exactly what does the seat at the tip. What does a real meaningful engagement looks like A meaningful engagement with black women in AI is where we can look back and feel that there was an impact on the community, not just a voice. We want the pin they want to write ammo use. We wanna write contracts. We want to be able to look back and say, Okay. Now with the University of Houston, we will have nine doctors at the end of this session and so That is what we're looking for, something that we can look back and health as an impact. Community. You want to innovate your way out of existence ? Yeah, yeah, Enjoy. I look forward to continuing the conversation and I think the message you're bringing very powerful thing. Thank you. Thank you so much. I appreciate it. Share, believe, inspire blacks be.
