South Africa, an emerging market has an average daily power generation of 58,000 mgwts with an estimated population of 65m people with widespread citizen complaints of unequal power distribution. The Global standard for power generation is 1,000 megawatts for a population of 1m people. With an estimated population of 200m people, If Nigeria intends attaining full power sufficiency, then we should be producing a minimum of 150,000 megawatts before we can announce a milestone. NB: Once the rainy season commences in Nigeria power supply improves. Same thing happened last year but went back to normal in October, 2024.
