Healing Talk Session

Are We Overplaying the Black Victim Conspiracies?

This is a hard topic and one that I continue to consider. I have said many times that it seems most of us have been forbidden for so long from expressing opinions, expressing self identities and expressing our resentment of the oppressors, that having gain the ability to do so is now our singular goal and achievement.

Yes, it is important to speak free and express ourselves. But, we seem to be addicted to the euphoria of being able to do something we knew our parents and grandparents in the United States and other colonized countries could not do. Yes, the ability to tell your oppressors you are now enlighten (woke) to their atrocities which mostly are the root cause of black people’s suffrage, should be celebrated. It feels good to celebrate. The sad truth is that constantly and only speaking of our past suffering makes us victims. Because of the intense excitement of this freedom, we seek it, we parrot it and overtime it becomes an euphoric echo chamber based on victimhood.

As with any addiction our minds build tolerances which forces us to seek even darker victim stories.  And with anything in life, when there is a demand you will find more than enough willing to fill it. In this case the demand gets filled with exaggerated or even fabricated victim stories or as some would say “conspiracies.” My argument is not on the validity of these theories but our addiction to them, Addiction that only paralyzes us.

As brother Integral Dohgon, wrote in his post titled, “The Black Pied Piper’s Song is Ignorance,” ”we all can be controlled by anything that stimulates our emotions, driving them into the extremes of addiction.”  He is correct. I, myself, have, and continue to fall victim to the emotional stimulations I get from Black Victim Conspiracies.

What is your thought? Are we overplaying the black victim conspiracies? Let’s talk.
