BET Founder Bob Johnson Returns to Network as Part of Inaugural Board of Advisors
In a move that's being hailed as a major milestone for Black entertainment and culture, BET founder Bob Johnson is returning to the network he helped build from scratch. Alongside him are hip-hop icons Queen Latifah and LL COOL J, who will join forces with Johnson on the network's first-ever Board of Advisors.A New Era for BET
Under the leadership of President Louis Carr, the board will provide 'insight, perspective, and accountability' to help shape the future of the company. According to Carr, BET has always been more than just a platform – it's a cultural institution with a responsibility to serve, reflect, and advance its community.
A Legacy Reborn
Johnson, who founded BET over 45 years ago, will bring his wealth of experience and expertise to the board. He remained hands-on as President & CEO until his retirement in 2006, but now he's back to help take the network to new heights. 'BET has always been a place where Black voices are amplified,' Johnson said in a statement.
A Dream Team
The Board of Advisors will also include NFL EVP of Football Operations Troy Vincent, Raymond J. McGuire, President of financial advisory and asset management firm Lazard, and George Cheeks, Chairman of TV Media at Paramount. Together, they'll provide a unique blend of expertise in entertainment, finance, and sports.

As the network looks to expand its reach while continuing to push the culture forward, Johnson's return is being seen as a major coup.
